As you traverse the Maasai plains, the urban landscape gives way to vast open spaces and traditional homesteads. You will arrive at Sentrim Mara Lodge in time for a warm welcome and a late lunch. After a brief rest, head out for your first introductory game drive. As the heat of the day fades, the predators begin to stir; keep your eyes peeled for pride of lions awakening for their nightly hunt. Return to the lodge for a sundowner and a buffet dinner. The day begins before the sun touches the horizon. With a packed breakfast in hand, you will head deep into the reserve to catch the wildlife at its most active. This is the best time to spot the "Big Five" — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. You'll spend the morning traversing the Talek and Mara River regions, where pods of hippos bask in the water and crocodiles lie in wait along the banks. After a picnic lunch under the shade of a lonely acacia tree, continue your exploration across the rolling plains, observing the intricate social structures of giraffes and the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.
